Just include a note when you purchase and I will send you a file with gift certificate for printing and gifting :) This is a custom order for a black and crimson pirate hat like the one shown in the photos. The only variation in appearance will be to the button on the rosette and red feathers may be different in shape/shade due to dye batches. You may also request variations to the hat and I will be happy to customize it for you! You can order as a gift certificate to allow the recipient to pick out their own trimmings or buy as a present to yourself! Hat base will be either a Poly/cotton composite felt base or a 100% wool felt base. The Poly/cotton composite felt is a layer of polyester/synthetic felt that has a flanneled/felt layer fused to both sides. It has a very nice hand and looks like a traditional wool felt hat but may not stand up as well to repeated rains/sun. So if you intend to wear this hat to renfaire or a pirate festival for many consecutive weekends I would recommend upgrading to the wool felt base, which is an option in the Variations menu. The ruffle is hand pleated and I use 1.5 inch wide grosgrain ribbon. Then I added a truly beautiful band of beaded chiffon trim. The chiffon is black with dark shiny gunmetal gray glass beads and dark pewter metallic thread. The trim is carefully pinned and then machine sewn to insure a beautiful finish. I finished off the hat with black and dark red feathers, and a matching ribbon rosette with silver button detail When ordering please include your head size in inches or centimeters.
